Comments: A match-winning conversion from five-eighth Anthony Singleton after the siren secured Redcliffe their first Queensland Cup. James Hinchey crossed for the crucial try to level up the scores at 16-all and Singleton landed the difficult goal kick with consummate ease to the win the game. Easts had led for most of the match and were in front 16-6 going into the final quarter of the match. However, Hinchey proved to be the unlikely hero for the Dolphins with two tries late in the game that sent the trophy off the Peninsula. The Tigers never recovered from the earth shattering loss and were promptly smashed by Redcliffe in the Brisbane Rugby League grand final two weeks’ later.
