1999 Queensland Cup
Round 10: May 15, 16

1999 Queensland Cup information is thanks to BroncoNet.

Redcliffe Dolphins 30
Tries: Mixie Lui 2, Michael Roberts, James Hinchey, Troy Mitchell
Goals: Michael Roberts 5
defeated Burleigh Bears 19
Tries: Aaron Douglas 3, Bill Dunn
Goals: Ben Lythe
Field Goals: Ben Lythe
Venue: Dolphin Oval
Date: Sat May 15
Chris' Comments: An absolute cracker!  Neither side really deserved to lose, but Redcliffe's never say die attitude and sheer brilliance all over the park is what got them home in this one.  Mixie Lui was fantastic in attack and defence in the centres and no doubt NRL scouts will be watching him closely.

Cairns Cyclones 44
Tries: Leigh McWilliams 2, Scott Donald, Michael Coorey, Scott Mahon, Shane Muspratt, Paul Dezolt, Jason Berg
Goals: Nathan Fein 6
defeated Ipswich Jets 26
Tries: Darren Smeath 2, Adam Hutchison, Michael Pechey, Jason Twist
Goals: Craig Green 3
Venue: Barlow Park
Date: Sat May 15
Chris' Comments: No real surprises here.  Cairns have looked the better of the two sides all season and Ipswich are still really struggling.

Logan City Scorpions 26
Tries: Phil Shilvock 2, Royce Simms 2, Grant Dutton, Brendon Lindsay
Goals: Scott Maguire
defeated Easts Tigers 18
Tries: Graham Cotter 2, Austin Neale
Goals: Matt Anderton 3
Venue: Meakin Park
Date: Sun May 16
Chris' Comments: Logan have finally got a big scalp under their belt and are within 2 points of the top 5.  Their defence has improved, and with their outstanding ability in attack, they will cause no end of trouble to the bigger names.

Norths Devils 54
Tries: John Wilshere 2, Ryan Gundry 2, Steve Bell, Matt Dux, Kevin Carmichael, Mark Protheroe, Wade Fenton, Ben Roarty
Goals: John Wilshere 7
defeated Central Capras 24
Tries: Graham White 2, Heath Egglestone, Kere Parata, Andrew Bell
Goals: Graham White 2
Venue: Bishop Park
Date: Sun May 16
Chris' Comments: The scoreline is a little deceptive.  Norths led 48-8 before allowing the Capras back to 48-24. Norths are really hitting form and are again looking premiership contenders.  It will be a thriller to see who out of Norths, Burleigh and Redcliffe wins the comp.

Wests Panthers 30
Tries: Michael Price, James Brown, Craig Bowen, Shaun Valentine, Robert Campbell, Jason Bulgarelli
Goals: James Brown 3
defeated Toowoomba Clydesdales 14
Tries: Scott Kuhnemann, Denis White, Brad Meyers
Goals: Jace Van Dijk
Venue: Gatton
Date: Sun May 16
Chris' Comments: Toowoomba were depleted with several players called into first grade with the Broncos. Others trained with the first graders all week before being sent back late.  It all pointed to an easy win to Wests and the Panthers have got within a point of the top 5.

Souths Magpies 21
Tries: Nathan Squassoni, Matt McCosker, Lyell Reck
Goals: Daniel Ivan 2, Andrew Murdoch 2
Field Goals: Geoff Black
defeated Wynnum Seagulls 16
Tries: Lance Cronk, Matt Fisher, David Seage
Goals: Alan Glyde 2
Venue: Kougari Oval
Date: Sun May 16
Chris Comments: Great to see the Magpies get their first win.  However, Wynnum's woes continue after a promising preseason campaign.
