Toowoomba Clydesdales 14
Tries:
Chris Walker, Denis White, Ashley Harrison
Goals:
Jace Van Dijk
Venue:
ANZ Stadium
Date:
Sat July 10
Chris' Comments: Toowoomba ran out of steam in this clash, which has left them in fifth spot, three points behind Wests in fourth.  The Clydesdales led 14-12 with 13 minutes left, but three tries in 8 minutes saw Cairns cruise to an easy win.

Redcliffe Dolphins 26
Tries:
Trent Leis 2, Rod West, Michael Roberts
Goals:
Michael Roberts 5

Easts Tigers 18
Tries:
Brett McPherson, Jeff Doyle, Phil Mooney
Goals:
Scott Thorburn 3
Venue:
Dolphin Oval
Date:
Sat July 10
Chris' Comments: Redcliffe again survived a scare.  They're not playing with the same authority they did in the middle rounds of the competition.  Easts led 16-0 and were going great guns before Redcliffe woke up and came back to win.

Ipswich Jets 19
Tries:
Chris Lawler 2, Jason Twist
Goals:
Chris Lawler 3
Field Goals:
Craig Teevan

Burleigh Bears 18
Tries:
Jamie Mahon, Dean Allen, Shane O'Flanagan
Goals:
Ben Lythe 3
Venue:
First Provincial Oval
Date:
Sat July 10
Chris' Comments: Probably the shock of the season.  Ipswich have been terrible all year, winning just three games, while Burleigh have been flying high at the top all season.  Somehow Ipswich managed to snatch a narrow victory to regain some pride.

Wests Panthers 24
Tries:
Craig Bowen, Clint Zammitt, Jamie McDonald, Craig Smith, George Wilson
Goals:
James Brown, George Gatis

Central Capras 14
Tries:
Heath Egglestone, Brad Neven, Craig Allen
Goals:
Graham White
Venue:
Browne Park
Date:
Sat July 10
Chris' Comments: Wests needed a win here to capitalise on Toowoomba's defeat, and they did well.  A solid victory places them comfortably in fourth spot and gives them a bit of breathing space with the finals only 5 weeks away.

Norths Devils 56
Tries:
Tristan Brady-Smith 2, John Wilshere, Kevin Carmichael, Daniel Frame, David Palavi, Dale Williams, Mark Shillington, Gus McKellar, Jason Wrigley
Goals:
Jogn Wilshere 8
d

Souths Magpies 4
Tries:
Brett Stevens
Venue:
Bishop Park
Date:
Sun July 11
Chris' Comments: Souths scored their first points for three weeks.  Norths led 28-0 at half time and went on with the job in the second half, continuing their charge towards the finals and maintaining third place, breathing down the necks of Burleigh and Redcliffe.

Wynnum Seagulls 26
Tries:
Alan Glyde, Brett Bowman, Danny Grimley, Ricky Taylor, Jason Keough
Goals:
Ron Troutman 2, Brett Bowman
d
efeated
Logan Scorpions 0
Venue:
Kougari Oval
Date:
Sun July 11
Chris' Comments: Another upset, Wynnum continuing their resurgence with a thumping win over Logan, who last week trounced Toowoomba.  It shows the quality and closeness of the competition.  The Seagulls have now won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 6 matches. Logan's slim finals hopes died with this defeat.
