Redcliffe has capped off fullback Adam Mogg's 100th
first grade match with a 36-18 win over Logan at
Dolphin Oval on Sunday. Mogg scored two tries for the
Dolphins as they get back on track to back-to-back
premierships, after suffering two consecutive losses
in previous weeks. However, coach Neil Wharton will be
a little disappointed that they did not go on with the
job in the second half, having had a 30-0 lead at
half-time.
Logan had plenty of opportunities to score more points
but they did not capitalize on these chances. They
butchered a few tries and this performance pretty sums
up their season. The Scorpions managed to outscore the
home side 18-6 in the second half but, unfortunately,
the damage was done in the first and it always going
to be hard to come back from such a deficit.
For the Dolphins, Michael Roberts and Phil Graham were
outstanding again in the halves. Roberts cut the
Scorpions' defence up several times and really is
having a great season. Graham continues his try
scoring feats and great form of recent weeks with
another two in this game. Neil Wharton will have a
hard choice in the coming weeks to decide who will be
Redcliffe's 5/8th with Phil in good form and Barry
Denduck returning from injury on the weekend.
In the lower grades, the Dolphins easily defeated
Logan in both grades. Barry Denduck made his return
from injury in A Grade at fullback as the home side
crushed their opposition 56-6. Sam Patterson was
outstanding again in the forwards while winger Shaun
Daylight scored three tries. The Colts predictably
thrashed the winless Logan outfit 56-10 with big 2nd
Rower Leigh Coghill the pick of the side, terrorizing
the opposition with his barn storming runs.
