2001 Queensland Cup
Round 11: May 26, 27

Redcliffe Dolphins 50
Tries: Jason Webber 3, George Wilson 2, Michael Roberts, Damien Richters, Rod West
Goals: Damien Richters 9
defeated Ipswich Jets 28
Tries: Reggie Cressbrook, Campbell McNiven, Ricky Bird, Kerry Carmichael, Tups Timaloa
Goals: Reggie Cressbrook 4
Venue: Dolphin Oval
Date: Sat May 26

Comments:
Redcliffe have registered a resounding win over Ipswich in a high scoring match.  The Dolphins were simply electric in attack and their task was made considerably easy with a disappointing defensive display from the Jets.  The home side led at all stages of the match with Jason Webber scoring a hat trick of tries and George Wilson also grabbing two.

Burleigh Bears 48
Tries: Greg Bourke 3, Aaron Douglas 2, Jamie Mahon, Jim Lenihan, Nick Shaw
Goals: Greg Bourke 8
defeated Wests Panthers 4
Tries: Geoff Rolleston
Venue: Pizzey Park
Date:
Sat May 26
Comments: Burleigh has consolidated it's spot in the top 5 with a comprehensive win over Wests at home.  The Bears only led 12-4 at half-time but romped it home in the second half.  Centre Greg Bourke scored 3 tries and kicked 8 goals for a personal tally of 30 points for the game.  The Panthers had no answers to the second half onslaught and now find themselves at the bottom of the table again.

Central Queensland Comets 44
Tries: Heath Egglestone 2, Jason Barsley, Justin Loomans, Graham White, David Smith, Andrew Schick, Sime Busby
Goals: Walson Carlos 6
defeated East Coast Tigers 16
Tries: David Baildon 2, Wade Liddell
Goals: John Wilshere 2
Venue: Langlands Park
Date:
Sun May 27
Comments: The Comets have arguable produced their best performance of the season with a stunning win over East Coast.  Central have had a dreadful season up to date and were running last up until this round but, against all odds, demolished their opposition.  The Tigers are in precarious position at the present moment and their premiership chances are looking quite shaky.  They still hold onto 4th spot however, with a negative for-and-against and a away game against Burleigh next week, could find themselves out of the top 5 if they lose next week.

Logan Scorpions 38
Tries: Shane Tronc 2, Terry O'Regan, Brendan Currie, Damien Durnford, Brett Simmonds, Brad Sim
Goals: Matt Anderton 4, Brad Sim
defeated Souths Magpies 28
Tries: Tristan Brady-Smith 2, Ben Davidson, Josh Stowers, Andrew Murdoch, Nathan Roe
Goals: Matt Lockyer, Andrew Murdoch
Venue: Meakin Park
Date: Sun May 27
Comments: Logan have finally snapped their losing streak with a win over Souths at home.  The Scorpions had lost 6 matches in a row (a couple of those they should have at least won) so it must have been a big relief to coach Gary O'Brien when they downed the Magpies.  It was a spiteful match with a total of 5 players being sent to the sin-bin.  Souths continue to show they are not easy beats of the competition and did give the home side a run for their money.

Wynnum Seagulls 12
Tries: David Seage, Wade Bachmann
Goals: Nathan Webber 2
drew with Norths Devils 12
Tries: Semi Tadulala, Clint Amos
Goals:
Brad Watts 2
Venue: Kougari Oval
Date: Sun May 27
Comments: Norths were lucky to escape with a draw in this match with the home side leading 12-6 in the dying minutes.  However, the Devils were able to score a last ditch try to come away with a point.  This is the Seagulls' third draw of the season.  This is the second time in as many weeks they have seeming let the opposition score in the dying minutes of a game and let them come away with a draw.
