Toowoomba Clydesdales 34
Tries: Corey Parker 2, Nathan Murphy 2, Damien Quinn, Tony Duggan
Goals: Damien Quinn 5
defeated Logan Scorpions 26
Tries: Darren Ireland, Brendan Lindsay, Phil Shilvock, Terry O'Regan, Brendan Currie
Goals: Brad Sim 3
Venue: Meakin Park
Date: Sat July 21

Comments:
Four quick tries in 20 minutes in the second half has ensured the Toowoomba Clydesdales a win over Logan at Meakin Park on Saturday. The Scorpions led 14-10 at half-time but a poor defensive display in that period, after the break, allowed their opponents to assert their class. However, to the home side's credit, they did not give up trying and grabbed two late tries to eventually go down by 8 points.

Wests Panthers 42
Tries: Brent Webb 2, James Brown 2, Aaron Morgan, Denny Lambert, Robert Tanielu, Terry Proctor
Goals: James Brown 3, Denny Lambert 2
defeated Souths Magpies 34
Tries: Ben Davidson 2, Tristan Brady-Smith 2, Trent Young, John Bruce, Marvin Alo
Goals:
Matt Lockyer 3
Venue: Purtell Park
Date: Sat July 21
Comments: Wests look to have avoided the wooden spoon when they defeated Souths at Purtell Park on Saturday.  The Panthers amazingly trailed 30-12 at half-time but produced a great comeback to win the game. The Magpies can't take a trick when it comes to winning matches and are certain to finish last in 2001.

Burleigh Bears 36
Tries: Greg Bourke 2, Jim Lenihan, Nick Shaw, Grant Adamson, Ryan Gundry
Goals: Greg Bourke 6
defeated Norths Devils 26
Tries: Kevin Carmichael 2, Paul Whaturia, Semi Tadulala, Dallas Johnson
Goals:
Marty Turner 3
Venue: Pizzey Park
Date:
Sat July 21
Comments: Win number 10 in-a-row over the Devils has seen Burleigh grab outright third spot on the ladder.  The Bears proved to be a little too good for Norths and are setting themselves for an assault on the premiership.  With Souths, Central and Wests (plus the bye) to come in the final rounds, the Bears could possibly move up to second if Redcliffe drop any further matches.  Greg Bourke continues his scoring spree with another 2 tries & 6 goals against the Devils to consolidate his position at the top of the point scoring table.

Wynnum Seagulls 32
Tries: Grant Dutton 2, Robbie David, Daniel Frame, Scott Tsaousis, Wade Bachman
Goals: Jay O'Doherty 4
defeated Redcliffe Dolphins 22
Tries: George Wilson, Phil Graham, Michael Roberts, Andrew Wynyard
Goals: Damien Richters 3
Venue: Kougari Oval
Date:
Sun July 22
Comments: Wynnum have scored their most satisfying win of the season when they downed Redcliffe at Kougari Oval on Sunday.  The Seagulls jumped out to an early 16-0 lead but allowed the Dolphins to score two tries to only lead 16-12 at the break.  Michael Roberts put Redcliffe in front when he sliced through the defence to score under the posts but it was all Wynnum after that.  They took full advantage of some very disappointing defence by their opposition and held on to record their first win over the Dolphins since 1995.  A small consolation for Redcliffe in that, despite the loss, they retain the Herald Cup for yet another year.

East Coast Tigers 36
Tries: John Wilshere 4, Scott Thorburn, Marcus Jensen, Martin Allen
Goals: John Wilshere 3, Scott Thorburn
defeated Ipswich Jets 18
Tries: Aaron Bulow 2, Marshall Chalk
Goals: Francis Renouf 3
Venue: Langlands Park
Date: Sun July 22
Comments: The Tigers, led by a 4 try haul from winger John Wilshere, proved to be too strong for a depleted Jets' outfit and virtually wrap up a spot in the semi-finals.  Ipswich played well in the first half to only trail 14-12 at the break and managed to score a converted try giving them a 18-14 lead, midway through the second half.  However, they faded for the rest of the game and East Coast came home strongly to eventually win quite comfortably.
