2001 Queensland Cup
Round 21: August 11, 12

Ipswich Jets 24
Tries: Faron Anderson 2, Reggie Cressbrook, Aaron Bulow
Goals: Trent Flood 4
defeated Redcliffe Dolphins 18
Tries: Phil Graham 2, Craig O'Dwyer
Goals: Damien Richters 3
Venue: Bendigo Bank Oval
Date: Sat August 11
Comments:
The Ipswich Jets have continued the recent form slump of Redcliffe with a 24-18 win at home. A strong first half performance set up the win, with the Jets leading 22-6 at the break, and they defended extremely well in the second to hold out the Dolphins.

Burleigh Bears 56

Tries: Dean Allen 3, Greg Bourke 2, Nick Shaw 2, Jim Lenihan, Steve Parsons, Ryan Gundry
Goals: Greg Bourke 8
defeated Wests Panthers 12
Tries: James Brown, Jason Gibson, Cameron McKenzie
Venue: Purtell Park
Date: Sat August 11
Comments:
Burleigh has wrapped up second spot and a home semi-final with a crushing 56-12 win over the hapless Wests Panthers.  The Bears were far too strong for the Panthers and extended their winning streak to 13.  They now look forward to meeting either Redcliffe or Norths at Pizzey Park in two weeks time.  Centre Greg Bourke continues to score points at an amazing rate with a combined total of 24 (2 tries and 8 goals) against Panthers while forward Dean Allen crossed for three tries.

Central Queensland Comets 30
Tries: Jason Barsley 2, Heath Egglestone 2, Kere Parata, Walson Carlos
Goals: Graham White 2, Walson Carlos
defeated East Coast Tigers 24
Tries: Jason Bulgarelli 2, John Wilshere 2, Martin Allen
Goals:
John Wilshere 2
Venue: Browne Park
Date: Sat August 11
Comments: Central have given retiring veterans Andrew Schick and Graham White and outgoing coach Ross O'Reilly the perfect send off in Rockhampton with a good win over East Coast.
Following the loss and events of this weekend, the Tigers will remain in fifth even if they defeat Wests next week.  East Coast will now have to defy history if they are to win this year's premiership.  No side has ever made the grand final from fifth spot (let alone win a competition) and it will take an enormous effort from the Tigers to be the first side to achieve this feat.

Souths Magpies 26
Tries: Josh Stowers 2, Matt Lockyer, Darren Lawson, Adam Jubb
Goals: Matt Lockyer 3
defeated Logan Scorpions 22
Tries: Phil Shilvock, Herman Lafaele, Darren Ireland, Brendan Currie
Goals: Brad Sim 2, Pat Dall
Venue: Davies Park
Date:
Sun August 12
Comments:
Souths have snapped an 11 game losing streak by narrowly defeating Logan 26-22. The Magpies have been competitive in so many games this year but have fallen at the last hurdle but not this time.

Norths Devils 60
Tries: Brooke Martin 3, Paul Sheedy 2, Cooper Cronk 2, Wade Fenton, Terry Benson, Marty Turner, John Paul Cherry, Semi Tadulala
Goals: Marty Turner 6
defeated Wynnum Seagulls 12
Tries: Robbie David, Daniel Frame, Trevor Exton
Venue: Bishop Park
Date:
Sun August 12
Comments: Norths move within 1 point of third spot after tearing Wynnum to shreds. The Devils racked up a total 12 tries for a final score line of 60-12 and put forward arguably their best performance of the year.  Their cause was pretty much aided by some non-existent defence by the Seagulls and the Devils backs had a field day at their opponent’s expense.
