Toowoomba Clydesdales 62
Tries: Michael Ryan 2, Ken McGuinness 2, Casey McGuire 2, Darren Ingram, Neale Wyatt, Mark Corvo, Michael Coorey, Nathan Murphy
Goals: Damian Quinn 9
defeated Central Queensland Comets 0
Venue: Newtown Oval
Date: Sat March 31
Comments: Toowoomba have registered their greatest ever win in Qld/Bundy Gold Cup history with a 62-0 flogging of the hapless Central Comets.  It was the Clydesdales first home game at Newtown Oval and didn't they turn in on in style.  The home side managed to score 11 tries with Ken McGuinness, Casey McGuire and Michael Ryan all grabbing doubles.  The Comets need to turn things around quickly or they will face a very long season.  A bit more luck with injuries would be a help.

Redcliffe Dolphins 30
Tries: Jason Webber 2, Damien Richters 2, Troy Mitchell
Goals: Damien Richters 5
defeated Wests Panthers 12
Tries: Brent Webb, Marc Fickling
Goals: James Brown 2
Venue: Dolphin Oval
Date: Sun April 1
Comments: Not an overly impressive performance by the Dolphins but a win's a win and they stay undefeated for the season after a win over Wests.  The Panthers put in a gutsy defensive effort to hold Redcliffe out but were eventually overwhelmed in the end.  Wests only trailed the Dolphins 12-18 up until the 70th minute before the home side scored two late tries (one of them being a length-of-field try to Troy Mitchell who pounced on a loose pass from the Panthers right on full-time).  Damien Richters and Jason Webber both scored 2 tries for Redcliffe.  Richters also converted 5 goals to give him a tally of 18 points for the day.

Burleigh Bears 38
Tries: Nick Shaw, Aaron Douglas, Adam Hayden, Grant Adamson, Dean Allen, Blair Tonkin, Adam Cook
Goals: Greg Bourke 5
defeated Wynnum Seagulls 18
Tries: Wade Bachmann, Scott Tsaousis, Trevor Exton
Goals: Nathan Webber 3
Venue: Kougari Oval
Date:
Sun April 1
Comments: The Bears have inflicted Wynnum's first loss of the season with a clinical display at Kougari Oval.  Burleigh scored 22 unanswered points in the second half to register their first win of the year.  The Seagulls led 18-16 at half-time but were eventually overrun by the Bears in the end.

East Coast Tigers 20
Tries: Scott Thorburn 2, Jason Bulgarelli, Jason Wendt
Goals: Scott Thorburn 2
defeated Logan City Scorpions 6
Tries: Clayton Summers
Goals: Brad Sim
Venue: Meakin Park
Date:
Sun April 1
Comments: The Scorpions put a courageous effort but it was not enough to ensure victory against the Tigers.  A length-of-the-field try against the run of play by Scott Thorburn put the result beyond doubt with 5 minutes to go.  East Coast only led 10-6 at that time and the home side were close to scoring.  However, Thorburn intercepted a long pass and scored the try to give the Tigers the win to remain unbeaten for the season.  East Coast scored again just on full-time and won the match by 14 points.
