Goals: Marc Fickling 2
Venue: Purtell Park
Date: Sat April 28

Comments:
Norths have comfortably beaten Wests 50-20 at Purtell Park on Saturday. The Devils were never really troubled at all by the Panthers, whose defensive effort has a lot less to be desired. The Panthers were just simply dreadful and were not clearly the same side that upset Ipswich, last week.  Norths jumped out to a 50-6 at one stage of the match but allowed the home side to score three late tries to add a bit respectability to the score line.

Central Queensland Comets 22
Tries: Wade Rothery 2, Jason Barsley, Justin Loomans, Namila Davui
Goals: Graham White
defeated Souths Magpies 10
Tries: Ben Davidson, Mohammed Allouche
Goals: Andrew Murdoch
Venue: Browne Park
Date: Sat April 28
Comments: Central have won their first match of the season with a win over Souths in Rockhampton.  The Comets were always likely to win this match but the Magpies did give the home side a run for their money.  Central now move off the bottom of the ladder.

Redcliffe Dolphins 26
Tries: George Wilson 2, Phil Graham, Adam Mogg, Michael Roberts
Goals: Damien Richters 3
defeated Logan City Scorpions 13
Tries: Phil Shilvock, Herman Lafaele
Goals: Brad Sim 2
Field Goals: Brendan Lindsay
Venue: Meakin Park
Date: Sun April 29
Comments: Redcliffe put in a strong second half performance to remain undefeated for the season.  The Dolphins trailed 7-0 (Brendan Lindsay slotted through a field goal for Logan right on half-time) at the break and the Scorpions were starting to look good when their winger Herman Lafaele crossed over in the 45th minute to put the home side up 13-0.  However, Redcliffe suddenly snapped out of their slumber and crossed for 4 tries in 13 minutes to give the visitors a 20-13 lead, with 15 minutes remaining on the clock.  Logan tried valiantly to peg back the deficit but it was to no avail.  George Wilson put the icing on the cake for the Dolphins when he sprinted half the field to score his second try, just before full-time.  Redcliffe eventually ran 13 points victors but it wasn't one of their most impressive performances.  If the Scorpions had cut down their error rate then it may have been a completely different story.

Tries: Nick Shaw 2, Daniel Kennedy 2, Greg Bourke, Grant Adamson, Hudson Smith, Steve Parsons
Goals: Greg Bourke 5
defeated Ipswich Jets 8
Tries: Junior Togia, Francis Renouf
Venue: Pizzey Park

Comments: The Burleigh Bears have finally put in compete effort and crushed Ipswich at home.  The Bears have played good in patches in all their matches to date but, in most cases, haven't been able to secure the win.  This match was different and Burleigh can now start make their way up the ladder.  The Jets are now in real strife and they face a long hard task of making the semi-finals.
